Migraine Massage

Are you suffering from debilitating migraines or headaches?  Currently in the US 37 million Americans suffer from migraines.  The symptoms range from throbbing pain to light/sound sensitivity, auras, and Nausea.

Many things can trigger a migraine, but the top 4 causes are Hormone imbalance, Environment, Food Allergies, and Stress.

I recently learned a new technique called Migraine Miracle from therapist Kelly Lott.  It combines pressure point massage, Aromatherapy, and cold stones to keep migraines at bay.  The Aromatherapy blends are specifically formulated for migraine sufferers to treat the 4 main causes of migraines.  Then cold marble stones are applied to soothe pain by reducing the blood vessels in the head and brain.

Can You Use Your HSA for Massage?

HSA/FSA's typically do cover massage therapy.  The steps to take to be able to do so are as follows:

1.  Go to your medical practitioner and ask for a prescription. The script must include: Medical necessity: why you need massage therapy (example: to relieve back pain), Frequency: number of sessions per month (example: minimum of two sessions per month), and Duration: length of treatment (example: 12 months).

2.  Keep the script in your files in case of an audit.  It is not needed by your massage therapist.

3. Schedule your massage.
